My favorite saying in the design world is by Fred Beecher, the Director of UX at The Nerdery. He says, “How do I explain what I do at a party? The short version I say is I humanize technology.”
Recently, I find myself saying the same thing.
Who is Liya Patel?
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA.
I graduated from Georgia State University in August 2022 with my B.B.A. in Digital Marketing along with a Minor in Business Law.
I recently completed my internship with Safe-Guard Products Intl. as a D2C UX Designer.
So, what drove you to a creative and tech field?
I realized I create “outside-the-box" solutions to my daily life problems. I am always looking for ways to make things more effective, so why not let it be my career?
Fusing my marketing background to user-centered design principles, I create intentional design that leaves an impact on the one person that matters the most to any organization: the user.
This coupled with my design skills, I found my passion for the UX Design field.
Where can I find you outside of work?
On the weekends, you will find me outside with my dogs trying a new restaurant or brewery. Or you will find us on a hike somewhere in North Georgia.
If it’s raining, I will be curled up on my couch with my iPad drawing and sketching designs for my friends small businesses. Typically, I will have a Shondaland production show running in the background for background noise, since I have already watched them all.
My friends describe me as creative, ambitious, and empathetic.
